LIFE IS LOUD, LEARN TO LISTEN.

Written by Denise Stemple

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (NLT)

God defines our calling as something he designed for us before the beginning of time. He placed a desire to live a life of meaning and purpose within each and every one of us, only we’re too busy to hear His still small voice.

Our lives are filled to the brim, leaving little to no margin in our body, mind, or spirit for what matters. This leads to burn out and aimless living.

More often than not, we don’t know who we are, and why we’re here, until we come to know the One who made us, and gave us life. Be still, and get to know the I Am. Only then can we connect his thoughts and ways to ours.

The more I press into who He is,
the more I embrace who I am,
and what He’s called me to.

Out of necessity, I’ve learned to get quiet in my heart, my sacred place, and on my yoga mat. Eliminating hurry allows you to experience the present moment, and what is right in front of you.

As a certified Christ-centered Yoga Instructor, Life Coach and Mentor, my heart’s desire is to create space for change – change that causes you to realize your God-given potential, physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

God blesses us with gifts and talents
so we can bless others and point it back to Him.

I practiced traditional yoga for years, it was similar to the body freedom in my ballet dancing, growing up. I loved how it stretched my body, my heart, and calmed my crazy monkey mind. I left every class feeling kinder and more giving. The exact same way Jesus makes me feel, free and loved.

While everyone else would om, my own prayers would flow naturally, connecting me physically, and spiritually to God. He laid it on my heart to come teach yoga His way. I knew deep in my bones I had to respond. I wanted others to experience this healing, this awakening, in Jesus’ name.

I received my Teaching certification through a traditional school, standing up for my faith in that arena strengthened me and my faith. I later received my extended studies certificate from Yahweh Yoga, a Christian Yoga school. Another confirmation of God’s leading, to find a program with other believers pursuing this profession.

It’s an honor and a privilege for me to serve others. I believe in living what I teach, and teaching what I live. If you have peace, you can teach peace.

When I struggle with peace, I know the recipe to find my way back, and I can teach that to others. I’ve struggled with authenticity and performance-based living. Jesus gave me the safe space to work through that, so I can teach it to others. When you find the One who loves you, mess and all, you teach it to others.

As I continued my education, and my craft, I became a Life Coach. I was so excited to help others, but I quickly learned, I first needed to help myself. You cannot pour out of an empty cup. Invite the Holy Spirit to fill, and guide, every area of your life.

Set aside time every day and hang out with Jesus. Spiritual disciplines like prayer, journaling, and soaking in his Word, positions you for his joy. A Christ in the center life will change you from the inside out.

De-clutter your physical space from the stuff you don’t need. Clear your mental space from the negative self-talk. Release the unforgiveness in your heart. Fuel your body with whole foods, and move every day.  Remove what keeps you stuck, so you can hear his whispers of love above the disorder.

Foster an attitude of gratitude. It will strengthen you, humble you, fight off discouragement, and arrogance. This practice creates a spirit of abundance over a lack mentality, and gives God the credit as the ultimate provider.

We don’t get where we are going on our own. We need the support and encouragement of like-minded believers who will fortify our faith. We benefit from someone to glean from, someone to walk alongside, and someone to pour into.

Invest in the help you need to develop yourself, so you can develop others. Find a place to serve, volunteer, or get some new training. You never know what will spark your interests and become your mission. Anxiety, depression, insecurities, unworthiness, lost identity, negative self-talk, are all battles worth fighting and winning. The enemy of darkness would love to keep you from your calling. Contend for the light.

God’s plan for you begins with Him.

When you love Him with your whole heart, soul, and mind, He will create space for your change, and you’ll want to share that with those you love, and so on, and so on. This mind, body spirit, methodology is on purpose living that takes you beyond the actual, to the possible.

What’s preventing you from hearing His voice and His plan for you?

Dear Lord Jesus, may we be still and experience your presence, unconditional love, and grace, to guide us along the path you have planned for us.
